LED Elevator Lighting
LED Lighting Engineering for Elevators: Tailor-Made High-Performance Solutions
In the elevation industry, lighting has evolved from a purely aesthetic element to a critical component of safety, efficiency, and user experience. At GP Trader, we understand that an elevator is a hostile electrical and mechanically demanding environment. Therefore, we do not offer generic products; we design custom LED lighting systems that respond to the real challenges of manufacturers and maintenance companies.
The Electrical Challenge: Why Standard LED Fails in Lift Environments
One of the biggest problems in cabin lighting is the instability of the electrical grid caused by powerful traction motors. Starts and stops generate voltage peaks that can prematurely degrade conventional LED systems, leading to flickering, colour shift, and early component failure.
Constant Power Technology
To mitigate this risk, we integrate constant power design technology into our solutions. Unlike traditional systems, this advancement allows drivers to deliver full rated power across a wide current range, ensuring uniform, flicker-free lighting regardless of grid fluctuations. This flexibility not only protects the electronics but also drastically improves the sense of comfort and safety for passengers.
Robust Surge Protection: 24/7 Reliability
Continuous operation is non-negotiable. Our solutions feature standard surge protection levels of 6 kV (line-to-earth) and 4 kV (line-to-line). For installations in industrial environments or high-rise buildings with unstable grids, we offer optional configurations that raise this protection up to 10 kV, ensuring the lighting remains fully operational even under the harshest conditions.
Total Customization: LED Modules Designed for Your Cabin
Our manufacturing capacity allows us to adapt every parameter of the LED module to the client's exact specifications. We do not force the elevator design to adapt to the LED; we adapt the LED to the design.
Voltage and Current Configuration
We understand that each elevator control system has its own requirements. We can manufacture modules with specific voltages (12V, 24V, or custom configurations) and light intensities adjusted to meet cabin lux regulations without glare.
Colour Quality (CRI) and Visual Comfort
The atmosphere in a design office or luxury hotel requires a high CRI (Colour Rendering Index) to highlight the cabin's finishes. We offer customization in CRI > 80 or CRI > 90 for faithful colour reproduction, with colour temperatures ranging from warm whites (2700K) for residential settings to neutral whites (4000K–4500K) for corporate environments.
Optics and Beam Angles
The low ceiling height in elevators demands precise light management. We configure the beam angles of the optics to guarantee perfectly homogeneous light distribution, avoiding shadows in corners or hotspots that ruin the ceiling's aesthetic.
Engineering Methodology: From Specification to Deployment
Our approach goes beyond product supply. We collaborate with your engineering team from the specification phase, reviewing electrical schematics, cabin dimensions, and installation constraints. This ensures every module is validated against your exact operating environment before production begins.
Logistics and Installation Optimization
We know that on assembly lines and maintenance call-outs, time is money. That is why we customize every last physical detail of the product.
- Custom Cable Lengths: We deliver modules with the wiring length and quick connectors needed for your cabin model, eliminating the need for soldering or splicing during installation.
- Kit Packaging Format: We can organize packaging into customized bags or kits. If your process requires one kit per elevator (e.g., 4 modules + 1 driver + cables), we prepare it so the operator only needs to open one bag per lift unit.
- Compact IP67 Design: Cabin ceiling space is limited. Our reduced metal housings save material while providing IP67 protection against dust and moisture accumulated in the lift shaft.
Certified Safety for Global Markets
All our products strictly comply with the latest safety standards, including IEC 61347 for lamp control gear and UL 8750 for LED equipment. This certification framework ensures our solutions can be deployed worldwide with full regulatory confidence.
For modernisation projects that do not require a fully bespoke lighting design, our range of off-the-shelf 12V LED modules provides ready-to-ship solutions with various colour temperatures, beam angles and wattages, all dispatched express from our European warehouse.
