LED Modules for Double-Sided Signs and Projecting Signs
Why pick these modules for your sign?
Look, if you're here, you need to light up a double-sided sign. And you know not just any LED will do. Projecting signs are slim. Sometimes just 4 inches deep. Regular LEDs would create visible hot spots. Ugly. Unprofessional.
These modules are different. They have special lenses that shoot light sideways. It's called Side-Lighting. The result? A lightbox that glows evenly on both sides. No bright spots. No dark patches.
How the side-emitting lenses work
Picture this: you mount the modules along the edge of the sign. Light comes out at a wide angle, around 160-170 degrees. It crosses in the middle. You cover the whole surface with fewer units. Less money on materials. Lower electricity bills.
A sign maker from London told us he used to install 40 modules per sign. Now he uses 24 of these. Same brightness, fewer cables, faster installation.
Built to last outdoors
Projecting signs live outside. Sun, rain, cold, heat. That's why these modules are IP67 rated. You could dunk them in water and they'd keep working. In practice, they handle storms, frost, and 40°C summers without breaking a sweat.
The connectors are sealed too. No moisture getting in through the joints. We've seen 5-year-old installations that still look brand new.
Where can you use them?
The classic use is shop signs. Those that stick out from the facade and catch eyes from far away. But there's more:
- Petrol station and shopping mall totems
- Parking and directional signs
- Lightboxes in stations and airports
- Pharmacy and clinic signs
What else you'll need
Besides the modules, you'll need a power supply - 12V or 24V depending on the model. Choose one with headroom. If your modules draw 80W, get at least 100W. It'll run cooler and last longer.
