LED motion sensors for professional installations
An LED motion sensor switches lighting on only when it is needed: it detects a person, activates the LED strip or module and turns it off after an adjustable delay. This section groups low-voltage (5-48V DC) sensors and controllers for installers, interior designers and furniture makers: PIR presence detectors, precision laser sensors, cabinet door probes, hand sweep switches and touch dimmers.
Choosing the right sensor
- PIR (passive infrared): detects moving body heat up to about 3 m within roughly 30°. Ideal for corridors, stairs and walkways.
- Laser / reflective infrared: a tightly defined detection zone (0.05-2.5 m, 20°) that avoids false triggers on narrow stairs.
- Door and hand sweep: for wardrobes, kitchens, display cases and furniture with aluminium profiles.
- Daylight sensor: prevents the light from switching on when ambient light is already sufficient.
LED stair lighting
LED stair lighting with sensors lights the steps one after another in the walking direction: bottom to top when going up, and the reverse when coming down. A stair controller reads two sensors (bottom and top), measures ambient light and drives each step individually with progressive effects and automatic switch-off.
Types of stair controllers
- 32 constant voltage outputs (ES32): one single-colour strip per step, up to 32 steps at 1 A per channel; some versions add an SPI output for a digital RGB strip along the stringer.
- SPI controllers (ES24, ES-D): drive addressable digital strips in step or flow mode with less wiring.
- Dual sensor 2-channel (ES-V): a simple solution for short stairs, corridors, bedrooms or wardrobes with two detection points.
Installation tips
Mount PIR sensors at 70 cm or higher, aimed at the first and last step. Keep the daylight sensor exposed, never in shade. Label every step cable in order and size the constant voltage power supply with a 20 % margin over the total strip load.
Purchase terms
These devices are supplied to order at net factory price, in indivisible packs (10 units, or 25 for low-cost probes and accessories) up to 50 units, with a 20 % deposit and manufacturing and delivery in 25-30 calendar days.
