Professional LED dimmers from 12V to 48V

LED dimmers sit between the power supply and the load to vary the brightness of single colour LED strips, modules and profiles. GP Trader supplies a full range of constant voltage (CV) dimmers for 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V with PWM output, from 3A mini units for display cabinets up to 20A devices for long strip runs.

Available dimming technologies

• 2.4 GHz RF — Wireless control up to 30 m without line of sight, with cascade forwarding between receivers to cover hundreds of metres. One receiver pairs with up to 10 remotes.
• Push-Dim — Dimming from a standard wall push button, no extra wiring. Short press to switch, long press to dim.
• Rotary knob — Direct physical control, the most intuitive option for hospitality, retail and residential projects.
• Wall touch panel — Tempered glass with touch wheel, ideal for receptions, meeting rooms and showrooms.
• 0/1-10V — Compatible with building management systems and centralised control protocols.

Flicker-free dimming: 4096 grey levels

Every dimmer in the range works with 4096 grey-scale levels and 256 brightness steps at high PWM frequency, eliminating flicker to the naked eye and on camera. That makes them suitable for shop windows, studios, retail and any installation being filmed.

How to choose the right LED dimmer

The key figure is the total current of the installation: add the wattage of every metre of strip or module and divide it by the working voltage, always leaving a 20% safety margin. Choose IP67 waterproof models for outdoor or damp locations and compact IP20 housings for panels and false ceilings. To extend power, add a signal repeater or amplifier on the same line.

LED dimmer FAQs

Can I use a traditional bulb dimmer with LED strips?

No. A 230V phase-cut (TRIAC) dimmer cannot be wired directly to a 12V or 24V LED strip. You need a constant voltage dimmer with PWM output placed after the power supply.

What is the difference between primary and secondary dimming?

Secondary dimming (after the driver, which is what these units do) gives a smoother, flicker-free curve. Primary dimming requires TRIAC dimmable drivers.

How many metres of LED strip does an 8A dimmer handle?

At 24V, 8A equals 192W. With a 14.4 W/m strip you can run around 13 metres leaving a safety margin.

Does the RF remote need Wi-Fi?

No. It is point to point 2.4 GHz radio, working without a router, cloud account or mobile app.
