The 140 lm/W high intensity LED module with 3 SMD2835 diodes is a professional backlighting solution rated 1.5 W at 12 V DC delivering 210 lm per module with a 175° beam angle. It is the balanced choice between power draw and light output for light boxes, channel letters and advertising signs where even illumination without hot spots is required.
Technical advantages of the 140 lm/W module (1.5 W - 175°)
- High efficiency: SMD2835 chip with up to 140 lm/W and 210 real lumens per module.
- 175° beam angle: uniform light mixing even in shallow boxes (40-60 mm depth).
- Aluminium PCB: superior heat dissipation and longer diode life (50,000 h).
- IP67 rear injection: slim, lightweight module suitable for outdoor installations.
- 3M adhesive backing: fast installation with no screws on sheet metal, aluminium or PVC.
- Standard 20-module string: constant voltage design that simplifies wiring.
Comparison: 3 diodes (1.5 W) vs 4 diodes (1.8 W)
| Parameter | 3 diodes · 1.5 W | 4 diodes · 1.8 W |
|---|---|---|
| Luminous flux | 210 lm / module | 243 lm / module |
| Current draw | 0.125 A (1.5 W) | 0.15 A (1.8 W) |
| Draw at 100 modules/m² | 150 W/m² | 180 W/m² |
| Recommended use | Signs and medium-depth boxes, long strings | Large formats and very opaque faces |
| Cost per square metre | More contained | Higher investment, more brightness |
Electrical calculation and power supply
Each module draws 1.5 W at 12 V DC (0.125 A). In a 60 mm deep box with 100 modules/m² the total draw is 150 W/m². Size the power supply with a 20% safety margin and limit strings to a maximum of 20 modules per cascade to avoid voltage drop and brightness differences between the first and last module.
Recommended applications
Illuminated signs, channel letters with opal faces, single and double sided light boxes, retail signage, advertising totems and architectural backlighting of translucent surfaces.
